In March 2022, Agrícola Sain Donat requested the design and installation of a Frost Control System for an orchard of 6.8 hectares of avocados planted at a spacing of 4 x 3 meters, located in the Litueche community, O'Higgins Region.

After evaluating the irrigation layout, hydraulic capacities, pumping equipment, filtration, and conduction systems, the installation of Kits - Rocío Plus® was proposed for all rows, every 6 meters (every two plants). We included 3-meter-high PVC stakes, which have a lifespan exceeding 10 years and protect the microtube from external interference.

As with other projects, in this instance, the irrigation and frost control systems were also alternately isolated with manual shut-off valves of 16 mm. In this way, the system was set up with two alternative and independent modes of operation, which are opened and closed once each season.

Finally, self-compensating drippers of 25 liters/hour were successfully installed, producing a precipitation of 1.04 mm/hour, equivalent to 2.90 liters/second/hectare. The instantaneous consumption was 65.6 m3/hour or 18 liters/second for the entire area.
