In 2021, Agrícola Carolmo requested us to design and install a Frost Control System for a 5-hectare blueberry plantation, with a spacing of 3 meters between rows and 0.80 meters within rows. The orchard is located in the Carolmo area, Quillota commune, Valparaíso Region.
We analyzed the technical characteristics of the installed irrigation system, the pressure levels (bars), and the water and energy sources. Based on this, we created the appropriate designs to meet the required water flow for the project. Finally, Rocío Plus® kits with self-compensating drippers of 15 liters/hour were successfully installed, resulting in a Frost Control precipitation with a total flow rate of 1.4 liters/second/hectare and 7 liters/second for the 5 hectares.
Throughout the installation process, our teams were on-site to support the client and ensure that the system operates as designed.
