Antibrina 3-22

Low-noise and low-emission frost protection

The Italian technology of Antibrina 3-22 features an efficient and aerodynamic design that exchanges cold surface air (below) for warm air (below), without trade-offs or sacrifices.

The reinvention of a classic

Antibrina 3-22 offers all the advantages of a conventional anti-frost tower, but at a fraction of the energy and operational cost.

Methodology

A tower should be operational for 10 hours per frost event and we can have about 10 events on average per year. Thus we will have 100 hours/year of use for the different towers to be compared.

Fuel value (2023)

  • NATURAL GAS: $ 500/liter approx.
  • DIESEL OIL: $ 1,000/liter approx.
  • ENERGY: $ 100 KW/hour approx.

  • Three-blade rotor with a radius of 1.5 meters.
  • Rotor diameter: 3.0 meters.
  • Rotation speed: 1,000 rpm.
  • Angle of attack: 7 degrees.
  • Totalweight: 730 kilos.

Scope

  • Wind tunnel area: 7.07 square meters.
  • Initial wind speed: 20 meters/second
  • Discharge flow: 140 cubic meters/second.
  • Area of influence: 5.30 hectares.
  • Wind range: 130 meters without

Engine

  • Motor installed at height and directly coupled to the rotor shaft with speed reducer.
  • Engine power: 30 hp or 22 kw with variable speed drive.
  • Mounting: Rotor mounted on a 2.0 meter profiled turret that rotates together with the rotor, reducing the noise produced by the wind passing through the structure.
  • Rotation angle control: from 90° to 360°.
  • Modification of the angle of rotation remotely.
  • Modification of the rotation speed remotely.

Operations and consumption

  • Temperature sensors at the base and rotor of the tower.
  • Automatic or remote start and stop.
  • Connection to 30 kva electrical grid if available.
  • Backup generator of 50 kva if there is no mains power supply.
  • Theoretical diesel generator consumption of 6 liters/hour (235 grams/kwh).
  • Diesel density: 850 grams/liter (at 15°C).
